English Pronunciation

Only those whose native language is not English know how hard can be to pronounce properly on that language. When I moved to the US, it felt like I was the only one struggling to build a correlation between the written and the spoken versions of certain words that after eleven years I am still ashamed to confess I am not capable of spelling and/or pronouncing correctly. Soon enough I discovered that other Latinos living in the US had similar difficulties.... including Ricky Ricardo in the 50's TV show I Love Lucy. Ricky, Lucy's husband, is a Cuban American band leader played by Desi Arnaz, who was married in real life to Lucille Ball at the time. Below is a fragment of an episode where Desi and Lucy show this struggle at its best. I am in good company. Warning: I Love Lucy can be addictive. I find it so funny!
